y me parece muy interesante compartirlo con ustedes. Debo señalar que hay una imprecisión
importante y es en relación a las sedes donde se ha llevado a cabo la famosa
ceremonia de la entrega de los premios Oscar de la Academia. Aprovecho la oportunidad más abajo para detallar este tema…
La primera entrega se hizo en un banquete el 16 de mayo de 1929
en el Blossom Room del Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel (en Hollywood
Blvd. y Orange).
De las 2ª a la 15ª se llevaron cabo o en el Biltmore Hotel, de la ciudad de Los Ángeles
o en el Ambassador Hotel de la misma
ciudad californiana.
Fue hasta la 16ª ceremonia celebrada el 2 de marzo de 1944
en que el legendario teatro chino -Grauman's Chinese Theatre-, del no menos
icónico Hollywood Boulevard fue la
sede del Oscar, y sólo por tres años.
Para la 19ª la sede fue el Shrine Civic Auditorium, de Los Ángeles.
A partir de 23 de marzo de 1950 cuando se efectuó la ceremonia
número 22, la sede del Oscar (Por 10 años) fue otro gran ícono de Hollywood, el
RKO Pantages Theatre, que fue hogar de
la entrega de la codiciada estatuilla hasta 1960 en la 32ª ceremonia.
A partir de la 33ª las sedes fueron el entre otras el
Auditorio de Santa Mónica, el Shrine
Auditorium & Expo Center, pero sobre todo el Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, de Los
Angeles County Music Center.
Fue hasta la 74ª ceremonia celebrada el 24 de marzo de 2002
que la sede para la entrega de los premios Oscar se trasladó al Kodak Theatre, en Hollywood & Highland hoy Dolby
Theatre y que sigue siendo el recinto oficial de la noche del Oscar.
